The Parking Spot Is Opening A New Facility In Austin
We are excited to announce that we will be opening a new facility in Austin on Thursday, February 16, 2017! Located at 2935 East State Highway 71, the new facility, The Parking Spot East, includes 1,589 canopy-covered spaces.
The location features a sustainable surfaceparking design, deeming it a Demonstrator Site by Parksmart, the parking certification arm of the U.S. Green Building Certification Institute. Parksmart uses Demonstrator Sites as a way to recognize operators for their contributions to sustainable design and spread best practices throughout the industry.
“We’re proud to be setting an industry-wide standard for sustainable parking design and preserving this location,” said Kevin Shrier, president and chief executive officer of The Parking Spot. “As we continue to grow in the Texas region, we’re excited to offer our guests additional parking options that were designed with sustainability in mind.”
The Parking Spot worked closely the Austin Heritage Tree Foundation to ensure the sustainable design of the location. Notable features include:
- Reuse of land once occupied by a concrete plant
- Reuse of concrete found above and below ground in the construction of the new facility
- Preservation of the Heritage Oak trees onsite
- 100 percent LED lighting
- Canopies with high solar reflectance index (SRI)
- Electrical Vehicle (EV) charging
The new location is adding 30 jobs to the market and is The Parking Spot’s second facility serving the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. For more information on the new Austin facility and to make a reservation in Austin, visit our Austin page today!
