College Spring Break Trips
If you’ve been day dreaming about the beach while working on chemistry homework or imagining a trip to the Southwest while watching the snow pile up outside your dorm window, then it’s time to start planning for spring break! Spring break trips are a good way to get away from it all and come back refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the semester. Check out these college spring break destinations and ideas: Caribbean Cruises Cruises are great for college students because most of the expenses are upfront—that means you can eat as much food as you want and take advantage of the free shows that cruises usually provide. Sit by the pool and soak up some sun, or head to the clubs for dancing and drinks. Some cruises even have movie theaters and ice skating rinks! Though the cruise ship itself will have plenty to keep you busy, you’ll also be able to explore the Caribbean islands and take advantage of the gorgeous warm weather. Austin, TX For those lucky enough to have spring break in mid-March, book a flight to Austin where you can attend the music festival SXSW (South by Southwest). From March 17-22, you can rock out to artists of almost every genre. Austin also has amazing Tex-Mex, so stop by Tamale House East and grab some breakfast tacos. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Noble Sandwich Co. is also a must when in Austin. From a smoked duck pastrami sandwich with Russian dressing to Red Chile Oxtail Grits, you’ll leave this restaurant happy and full. Phoenix, AZ Phoenix is a fantastic place to have an outdoor adventure—go biking, hiking, or even horseback riding in South Mountain Park and discover the beautiful scenery of Arizona. If you’re looking for total relaxation, then Phoenix has a number of different spas that will help you on your journey to relaxation or enlightenment, including the desert-themed Agave, The Arizona Spa. For dinner, try out Casa Reynoso, a restaurant known for its great Mexican food with an Arizona twist. It has everything from chili plates to chimichangas. Travel Tip: If you have a large group of friends all planning on vacationing together, then deciding on just one destination can be difficult. Have everyone list what’s most important to them in a vacation and what their budget is. This should help your group to narrow down the possibilities. Whichever destination you choose, you’re sure to have fun on your college spring break trip!
